Laws, grounding and abstention.

Safety in Senua AI is part of how every decision is made, not a filter applied to the output afterwards.

Four laws, in strict order

Before it acts or answers, the engine weighs each possible response (answer, decline, refuse, or offer to learn) against four laws. A higher law always wins; no amount of a lower one can outweigh it.

  1. Safety. Never assist harm to people. Safety comes before helpfulness.
  2. Honesty. Never fabricate. Assert only what is grounded, and admit what is not known.
  3. Helpfulness. Help the person asking, including by learning what is needed to answer well.
  4. Courtesy. Be polite, attentive and clear.

Grounded, or declined

Every answer carries the source it was learned from. When nothing learned applies, confidence is low and the engine declines rather than guessing. Asked to name the authors of 20 invented book titles, it named an author for none of them.
