Power, water, gas and freight run on equipment that reports on itself constantly. Most of that data is watched by fixed alarm limits, which fire too often to be trusted and too late to help.

Learned normal instead of fixed limits

A fixed limit has no idea that a pump runs hotter in summer or under load. The engine learns how each piece of equipment normally behaves as conditions change, and raises the departure from that, with the reading that moved and how confident it is. The aim is one explained alert in place of a flood of alarms.

On site, under Australian obligations

Operators of critical infrastructure assets carry obligations under the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018. An engine that runs on the operator's own hardware, on site, keeps operational data where those obligations say it should be.
